Northern Rhodesia
1929 (18 Feb.) envelope from Ndola to Bulawayo and carried by the R.A.F. during the Railway strike on the copper belt, bearing 1925 2d. yellow-brown neatly cancelled by c.d.s. and showing, on reverse, notes in pencil by the then owner Harry Ward, "carried from Broken Hill to Bulawayo by the R.A.F. during the railway strike of 1929. R.A.F. left Cairo Feb. 12th. and arrived at the Cape Mar. 7th. "Aeroplane" 6-3-29 states the R.A.F. arrived at Bulawayo on Feb. 28th. & brought with them mails from the North which had been delayed by the strike on the Rhodesian Rly". Exceptionally rare, being one of only eleven covers known to exist from this relief flight
