1852 (17 Sept.) envelope from Sydney to Salisbury, marked "Per Australian", bearing 1850 3d. deep yellow-green on bluish to grey wove paper, margins on two sides (cut into at top and right), tied by dumb obliterator, showing manuscript "1/-" and, on reverse, "ship letter/sydney", London (12.1) and arrival (12.1) datestamps; the envelope slightly soiled.
