Cooke printing, variety watermark inverted, centred to right, cancelled by large part "rochester/vic" c.d.s. dated 28th February 1918, slightly soiled but otherwise a wonderful example of this very rare variety. Note; B. W. state "Three used examples with watermark inverted can be recorded in the carmine-pink shade, one being in the Royal collection. One example on cover is cancelled with the Rochester (Vic.) datestamp of 8 March 1918. A further example is known in the deep red shade."
