1860 (Sept.) envelope from Waikouaiti "By overland mail" to "Ferry, Waitangi River", marked "Waikouaiti" in red ink and bearing 1857-62 2d. blue (margins in places) with small part barred numeral cancellation, sent northwards with Christchurch transit c.d.s. (4.9) on reverse, and then back south to Waitaki River. RPSNZ Certificate (2008) states that it is impossible to confirm that the adhesive belongs and therefore offered "as is". Also 1871 2d. orange cancelled "05" which was used at Waikouaiti. Photo
