1855 (2 April) envelope to Scotland inscribed "Coolalie April 2nd." at lower left, bearing watermark Small Crown, perf. 14 1d. pair and single cancelled by faint strikes of the Crown between Stars obliterations in black, the reverse showing "post office/british army"datestamp type 2 (Code A) in blue-green for 2 April; the envelope perimeter and one adhesive a little defective. Note: The "Coolalie" inscription refers to Kulali. A convalescent Hospital was set up there, against the advice of Florence Nightingale, and the patients admitted were ill rather than convalescing. The staff of nuns running the Hospital were unable to cope and it was closed within a few months
