King George V Issues
1911 photo montage of an unadopted essay, based on an enlarged photograph (65x92mm.) of an adhesive, over which a full length portrait of King George V in Naval uniform has been pasted, the value tablet, royal cypher, Crown and coat of arms hand painted in black and Chinese white. It is believed that this design was to be considered for a special issue commemorating the Coronation and that this essay may have been prepared by the Royal Mint. Photo
