OA, original Plate 1a re-entry, large margins, tied by black Maltese Cross cancellation (scarce on this Plate) to entire (no side flaps), dated 16 Nov. 1840, addressed to Lincolns Inn Fields with faint Bishops Gate Within on the front, red datestamp on reverse; vertical filing fold well clear of the adhesive, some splits along the fold strengthened by archival tape. A rare entire demonstrating experimental use of the black Maltese Cross. Photo
