A34, dated 12 Feb. 1841, addressed to Newcastle, with red Maltese Cross cancellation (late use), blue "newcastle on tyne" c.d.s. on reverse across flap, and with a fastidiously written romantic verse inside, culminating with the words I am my lovely Polly thy Valentine; fine. A most unusual use of the Mulready and believed to be the only recorded example such of either value. Photo
