1901 envelope to London, marked "via Lagos", bearing Northern Nigeria 1d. tied by manuscript "Post Office Lagos 16.8.01" in red ink and showing, on reverse, "lagos/w.africa" c.d.s. (28.8). The manuscript handwriting appears to be very similar to that used in Jebba; it seems likely, in view of the delay between cancellation and transit d.s., that the "Lagos" was written in error for "Jebba".
