1903 (14 Mar.) Southern Nigeria 1d. stationery envelope to Asaba, cancelled by "warri" c.d.s. (Type D3) and showing, on reverse, "niger travelling post office" with code "A" (14.3) and arrival c.d.s. (17.3); the envelope a little soiled and with some damage at top caused through opening. Photo

Note: Warri was initially the depot for the Niger river transport. Transport was provided by vessels of the Niger Company and the Southern Nigeria Government.
The postmarks on the reverse indicate that the letter was carried by a vessel of the Southern Nigeria Government.
