Vanderbilt Newspapers, Inc. (DE), a pair of certificates for preferred stock and common stock, 192[4], both no.5728, both signed by Cornelius Vanderbilt Jr. as president, ornate borders, green with green seal and brown with brown seal respectively, very fine. (2)

Cornelius Vanderbilt IV (1898-1974), great grandson of Cornelius Vanderbilt. Worked for the New York Herald and the New York Times often writing under the name of Cornelius Vanderbilt Jr., and went on to launch his own newspapers including the Los Angeles Illustrated Daily News, San Francisco Illustrated Daily Herald, and the Miami Tab. The publications proved unsuccessful and made Vanderbilt a loss of nearly $6 million. He went on to write numerous books and made the documentary 'Hitler's Reign of Terror'.
