East London Railway Company, £20 share, 1865, no.53159, attractive black printing, red overprint fully paid, very fine and scarce.

A steam hauled service that was opened in 1869 initially from New Cross Gate station to Wapping crossing the Thames using Brunel's tunnel. Later extended to Shoreditch. Became part of London Underground in 1933 and subsequently the Overground network.
