1875 and 1879 envelopes from Plantain Garden River to Kingston, both bearing 2d. rose cancelled "A62" and with "p.g. river/jamaica" c.d.s. alongside, the first dated 7 May (the earliest recorded example of this c.d.s.), the other dated 1 January with the year date unusually written in manuscript, arrival c.d.s. on reverse; a fine pair of covers from this scarce office
