1855-63 White Paper, Covers
1860 (16 May) envelope from Port Elizabeth to London, bearing 6d. rose-lilac with 11mm. sheet margin at right, good margin at left and touched at foot, lightly cancelled and tied, manuscript "5" in red crayon and London Paid c.d.s. (28.6), despatch and Cape Town (19.5) datestamps on reverse; the adhesive with a few stains and the envelope with a couple of faults though unusual to find a marginal example of this value on cover.
