(†) British West African Currency Board, archival photographic designs for 10/- and £1, 1 January 1916, three layers for each design showing the obverse print and underprint, and the reverse design as one, also a piece of watermarked paper intended for use with both denominations, and a letter from De La Rue to W.H.Mercer, the government official in charge of approving the design. The letter also details complete costings for the intended print run and is very valuable research material
(design not listed in Pick), unique and extremely interesting, as these designs are clearly precursors to those issued a few years later (6)
