1874 (6 July) Nicholson envelope to Melbourne "Viâ Galle" bearing 1863-71 96c. brownish grey just tied by "B62" and bearing, on the reverse, Foochow despatch c.d.s. in blue, Hong Kong (11.7) and arrival (21.8) backstamps; a few minor tone spots and usual arrival notation on front. Paying the quadruple rate. Signed Holcombe. A rare and desirable covers, there are only three single 96c. frankings recorded, this is the only one from Foochow. Photo
