1848 (5 July) long entire letter to Boston bearing a fair to good strike of the oval "forwarded by/drinker & co/hongkong" in red and, on the flap, part "lemuel goddard/london" forwarding handstamp (part missing on opening) and with handstruck "24" in red applied in Boston for incoming British mail. An unusual and interesting retaliatory rate cover, especially without any other postal markings. Photo
