1846 (5 Jan.) single page letter sheet with illustrated valentine on lace-edged paper, addressed to H.M.S. Ibex, Hong Kong, China Seas, endorsed "Paid 1/-" in red ink with "rathcormac" c.d.s., red tombstone Paid (8.1) of London over Dublin transit; stained and a small portion of the paper lace design missing at right. Very unusual for mail to the China Station. A charming and delightful greeting which, sadly, would not have reached the recipient in time for Valentine's day. Rare and desirable. Photo
