1865 (22 Mar.) neat entire to Nagasaki bearing perforated Napoleon 20c. tied by a neat strike of gross chffires "5104" with French Post Office Shanghai despatch c.d.s. and boxed "pd" alongside, carried "pr steamer Union", without further postal markings. A very scarce cover carried by private mail via the American steamship 'Union' to Nagasaki. Very little mail is recorded carried by the American steamer, with known dates between 1865 and 1866.
