Auction: 14008 - World Banknotes
Lot: 2135

Commercial Bank of Scotland, an entirely hand drawn and coloured fake/fantasy £1, probably produced in the late 1800s to the early 1930s, blue and yellow on waxy paper, scene with horsemen, cannons and flags at centre, arms at top centre, value at centre and each corner, ornate designs surrounding, a very curious item, bearing little resemblance to any notes ever produced by the Commercial Bank of Scotland. A letter from the British Museum relating to the note is included in the lot.
Folded into a very small square, sections missing from right and top edges but mostly intact, very good and completely unique, a very interesting item worthy of further study
