Hiberno-Norse coinages, Sihtric Anlafsson, Penny, 0.73g, phase II, c.1015-35, imitating Aethelred II long cross type of Worcester mint, Wulfric, bare headed bust left, e on neck, pellet in annulet on drapery and behind bust+niirnarranrexi, last r inverted, rev. +pvlfriconpiihrmoini, e in fourth quarter, pellets in rest, legend unbroken by long cross (SCBI 32 Belfast, No 115 - same dies; S.6126), pleasing old collection tone, good surfaces and a clean strike, nearly extremely fine, this direct imitation of the Worcester mint particularly rare, especially so with the unbroken legend on reverse as on the Small flan issue of Edward the Confessor
