James I (1603-25), second coinage, 1604-19, Unite, 9.90g. m.m. mullet/pierced mullet, fourth bust, armoured bust right, rev. crowned garnished shield (cf Schneider 26; N.2084; S.2619), a good, full piece, fractionally off-centre on reverse, the obverse very respectable with much of the finer detail remaining on the king's bust, the metal a little bright in areas, very fine

It is unusual to see the piercing at the centre of the mullet mintmark.
