Shaybanid, Abu'l Fath Muhammad Shaybani (1500-10), AR Tankas (300), AH914, mints mostly Nishapur or Mashhad where visible, kalima in central panel with names of four successors around, rev. legend imam al-zeman caliph al-rahman Abu'l Fath Muhammad al-Shaybani khan khallad Allah te'ala mulkahu wa sultanahu, around central cartouche, zarb shir mard 914 (A.2978.2), about fine to very fine with original hoard staining, an interesting study group (300)

These coins were found in a vase in Nishapur in 1942, when foundations were being dug for a house in the centre of town. Attributed to Astarabad mint by Cabinet des Medailles, Bibliotheque National, Paris.
