Edward the Confessor (1042-66), Penny, 1.31g, hammer cross type, Lincoln, Oslac, +eadpard re, crowned bust right with sceptre, rev. +oslac on linco, short cross voided, each limb terminating in an incurved segment of a circle (N.828 var; S.1182 var), some dark staining, full, round flan, very fine, a very rare variety with the ecclesiastical annulet on reverse so usually associated with the York mint
There are just three examples of this type with the reverse annulet in the EMC/SCBI database, Ulf, Thorketill, Wulfric. Mossop also lists these three examples as Nos. 12, 22, 27.
