Edward the Confessor (1042-66), Penny, 1.31g, sovereign / eagles type, Winchester, Godwine, +EADPERD REX ANGLO, king enthroned facing, orb in left hand, sceptre in right, rev. +GODPINE ON PINCESTRE, short cross voided with eagle in each angle (Freeman 157; N.827; S.1181), much as struck and on a large round flan, good metal, pleasing old collection toning, very fine or better, rare with such a full mint signature
