The description of the above coin as a Calais/London mule depends on the presence of annulets beside the neck, this being an attribute of Calais coins only. London coins of this issue have nothing by the neck (see Whitton, BNJ XXIII, 1938-41, p. 69). According to Lord Stewartby these coins were struck at Calais.
