Midshipman David Sparkes, educated at Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth; Commissioned Midshipman1.9.1962; Appointed to the Battle class destroyer H.M.S. Barossa, and served as part of the Far East Inshore Flotilla in support of ground troops during the revolt in the British Protectorate of Brunei, December 1962.
