Commander Alexander Francis Cochrane, born 29.3.1902, the son of Major Charles FitzGerald Thomas Cochrane; Commissioned Midshipman on 1.5.1918, and served during the great War in H.M.S. Columbine; promoted Lieutenant, 15.12.1923; Lieutenant-Commander, 15.12.1931; retired with the rank of Commander, 29.3.1947; died in Truro, Cornwall, 3.3.1985.
