8204 Private David Thomson, born Laurencekirk, Kincardineshire, 1879; enlisted in the Volunteer Service Company of the Royal Scots for service during the Boer War, 4.2.1902, having previously served with the Queens Rifles Volunteer Battalion Royal Scots; served with the Regiment in South Africa from 24.2.1902; discharged, 14.7.1902, after 161 days with the Colours.
