Willis, served with the 5th Battalion East Kent Regiment during the Great War in Mesopotamian Theatre of War from 9.12.1915; awarded Territorial Force Efficiency Medal, 1919 (Army Order 275); served as Confidential Clerk to Political Officer North Persia Force, August to December 1920, and recommended to receive the General Service Medal by The High Commissioner for Iraq.
