#186, 6c Pink, an incomparable quality mint example, possessing mathematically precise centering amid lavishly large margins, considerably stronger color than typically encountered on especially bright paper, full clean o.g. that has been only lightly hinged, a superb gem.[cr][lf][cr][lf]This exciting example of the 1879 Six Cent American Bank Note Company is a major condition rarity. The difficultly of finding any kind of premium quality example is well known, as this stamp simply never comes well centered or with large margins. To find both of these exceptional attributes on a single copy is a very rare occasion. In fact, this is the highest graded example in the PSE Population Report and is the sole example to have been given this exalted grade - the next closest being a single copy grading 95.[cr][lf][cr][lf]Accompanied by a 1988 PF certificate, as well as a 2008 PSE certificate (Superb 98 Jumbo; SMQ $7,550.00 as 98, the highest grade they price); the highest, and sole, example of Scott #186 to grade Superb 98 Jumbo.
