#323, 1c Louisiana Purchase, an amazing quality mint example, boasting mathematically precise centering amid lavishly large margins, both being attributes that are almost impossible to find on this value, especially combined on the same stamp, gorgeous intense color and a crisp detailed impression on pristine paper, immaculate o.g., n.h., a superb stamp in every way.[cr][lf][cr][lf]The difficultly of finding any of the five values from the 1904 Louisiana Purchase series in true gem quality cannot be overemphasized. The placement of the impressions on the plates were always tightly spaced, allowing little room for sizable margins. It is only in rare cases of the aberrant placement of the perforating pins that created the very few existing copies that possess the perfection of centering and impressive width of the margins found on this amazing stamp. The finest example ever graded by Professional Stamp Experts.[cr][lf][cr][lf]Accompanied by a 2008 PSE certificate (Gem 100; unpriced in the SMQ in any grade higher than 98, SMQ $2,950.00 for a ""mere"" 98); the sole example of Scott #323 to have been awarded this spectacular grade..[cr][lf][cr] Estimate US$ 7,500-9,000
