Gilbert D.L.C." to Marseilles, slit and with vinegar stains for disinfection, fine red wax seal on reverse; the contents referring to the missing sailing on 10 June; unusual. Also 1878 envelope (faults) to Argyll, redirected to Dingwall, bearing G.B. 2½d. rosy mauve Plate 8 cancelled "942" and showing, on reverse, despatch, Fort William (27.8), Salem (28.8) and Dingwall (28.8) c.d.s.
