1880 (6 Sept.) envelope (opened-out, flap missing and minor faults) "Via Brindisi" to Lady Johnson, London, bearing ½a. and 4a. sharing manuscript "Kandahar 6-9-80" and each neatly cancelled with diamond of bars, the reverse with "field force p.o." c.d.s. (6.9), Bombay and arrival (14.10) c.d.s.; posted a few days before the battle of Kandahar. Photo
