1854 (Oct.) clean European envelope from Madras to Bangalore, bearing an example in red showing weak inking in upper corners, good to very large margins and neatly cancelled and tied by diamond of dots, the reverse with despatch paid datestamp (day unclear) and arrival G.P.O. datestamp for 9 October with manuscript "Recd 9 October" on face, proving an extremely early usage of this stamp during the first week of issue.
