1890 (28 Sept.) double rate envelope registered from Palachwe to England, bearing 1887 2d. vertical pairs (2) and Protectorate 1889 (Aug.) 4d. on ½d. vertical strip of three, all lightly cancelled with c.d.s. and with London arrival oval registered datestamp (28.10) at foot, the reverse (flap missing) with Cape Town and London (28.10) oval registered datestamps; the envelope a little soiled though a scarce combination franking with the 4d. on ½d. rare on cover.
