Original "carte de visite" photograph, by Elliott & Fry of Baker St., of Rev. Robert Moffat (1795-1883, Scottish Congregationalist missionary to Africa and father-in-law of David Livingstone), signed by him with his date of birth and marked "Recd. from Dr. Moffatt 19th. Feby 1874" on reverse, and a further autographed card on which he has written "Fifty four years Missionary to the Bechuanas S Africa. The Cedars 11th Novr 1870"; signed photographs of Moffatt are rare. A wonderful frontispiece to any collection of Bechuanaland
