Lot: 15

Iran, Qajar Dynasty, Muhammad Shah, (1834-48), AV Fifth-Toman, Tehran, 0.7g, lion standing left holding sword with sun rising behind within wreath, rev. legend in square frame (cf.A.2905D; cf. KM.811), seemingly unrecorded denomination, unevenly struck with ghosting due to thinness of the flan, very fine, presumably rare

Steve Album records a 1/10-Toman for this ruler, struck at Isfahan. This coin clearly shows the mint Tehran and appears in all respects of a type with the Toman and Half-Tomans issued in Tehran with lion standing left.
