1814 (6 July) entire letter from Corfu to England with disinfection slits and staining (on reverse), rated "3/3", showing oval intaglio seal of Demetrios Zervos, Director of the British Post Office of the Ionian Islands and a good strike of the Falmouth "malta/f" arrival datestamp for 8 September (crossed by vertical filing crease); the face panel with 50mm. tear at top. Extremely rare, the only other recorded example of the seal is in the Museum of the Ionian Bank in Corfu. Photo
