QueenslandThe Chalon IssuesRegistered Mail1870 (8 July) envelope (flap missing) from Toowoomba to Dublin, bearing 1864 "registered" (6d.) orange-yellow and 1868-74 2d. blue strip of three all cancelled "214" and with "registered/toowoomba" handstamp and London Registered oval datestamp (10.9) below, despatch and Brisbane c.d.s. (Campbell Type 2 in red) on reverse. Also 1872 piece bearing "registered" (6d.) orange-yellow and 2d. blue sharing barred numeral "152" and tied by superb Taroom c.d.s. with last two figures of year date in smaller type, this piece being the item discovered by George Ginger in 1931 that "tied" the number to Taroom.
