† Bank of Afghanistan, a group of specimens of the 1961-63 issues, all with King Muhammad Zahir at left, comprising 100 Afghanis, red, reverse mosque, 500 Afghanis, SH1340, orange, reverse dam, 500 Afghanis, SH1342, olive-brown, reverse dam, and 1000 Afghanis (2), SH1340 and SH1342, both blue-grey, reverse arch and mountains, all overprinted SPECIMEN in red with two De La Rue Specimen ovals on obverse and reverse, two punch holes (Pick 40s, 40As, 41bs, 42as, 42bs), mounting traces, the 100 Afghanis otherwise extremely fine, the remainder about uncirculated (5) Estimate £ 150-250
