Prince Edward Island Sixth Issue Covers 1873 (6 June) envelope from Charlotte Town to Bathurst N.B., bearing perf 12 1/4 4c. deep green paying the single letter rate to New Brunswick, tied by cork "triangle" obliterator and showing despatch datestamp alongside with, on reverse, Chatham N.S. (10.6) and part arrival datestamps; the envelope with some tears at left and other lesser faults. A fine example of the 4 cent interprovincial rate used during the last month prior to Prince Edward Island joining the Confederation in July, 1873. Photo Estimate £ 200-250 provenance: Dr. R.V.C.
