Prince Edward Island First Issue 1861 (1 Jan.) Perforation 9 Covers 1862 (29 July) envelope from Charlotte Town to London, bearing 3d. blue (rather defective) and 6d. yellow-green (small defect at left) paying the 9d. rate to U.K., both cancelled by light 8 bar oval, showing manuscript "4", red Paid arrival c.d.s. (4.8) and, on reverse, part Type P7 datestamp; the envelope with some slight staining which also affects the adhesives. Rare. Photo Estimate £ 500-600 provenance: M. Burrus, April 1963
