(29/3) and "new york" (31/3) datestamps, red "paid", rated "18 3/4" and "3/2" in manuscript, on reverse step type "ship letter/plymouth" and red London datestamp (20/4); filing fold but a fine letter with interesting and harrowing contents, apparently soliciting funds "I think your compassionate heart will lead you to continue your accustomed kindness to me....".
