Victoria A collection of Travelling Post Offices comprising, 1873 (19 Nov.) envelope (opened-out and rebacked) from Faradale to Knyeton bearing 2d. violet (faults) cancelled "109" and showing, on reverse, superb "up train/mg3" c.d.s., despatch and arrival c.d.s., 1893 1d. envelope to Melbourne, 1898 1/2d. wrapper to Melbourne and 1902 1d. red card to New South Wales, all cancelled with "up train/mg3" small c.d.s. from the first and second periods of use, the last showing inverted "2" year code, 1897 1 1/2d. on 2d. card from Bendigo to England cancelled by "down train/mg3" small octagon d.s., and 1907 envelope (rebacked internally) to Tasmania bearing 1d. pair sharing fine "up tarin/m.g.3" small c.d.s.; 1879 (13 June) 1d. violet card (light crease) from Castlemaine to Carlton cancelled with superb first period "up train/mg3/t.p.o/3" duplex, Melbourne c.d.s. (14.6) also on face, arrival c.d.s. (14.6) on reverse, 1895 (25 Nov.) Havelock/Foster´s 1d. blue card from Echuca to Melbourne and 1898 (1 Oct.) 1d. pink card (soiled) to Melbourne, both showing fine/superb strikes of the second period "up train/mg3/t.p.o/3" duplex, the Havelock card being a very late date of use which had been officially withdrawn from sale on 19 November. Also 1919 card from Castlemaine to Sorrento Post Office with "t.p.o.3" Commonwealth type; 1880, 1881 and 1883 1d. violet cards all from Sandhurst to Melbourne, each cancelled with superb "t.p.o./4" in oval of bars, the first two with "up train/gm4" small c.d.s. error, the first on reverse, the second on face, the third with large "up train/m.g.4" c.d.s. (the earliest recorded date of use) on reverse; 1899 (29 June) 1d. orange card from Korumburra to Melbourne and cancelled with superb "up train/m.g. 2/t.p.o/2" small duplex, and 1911 (3 July) envelope (complete with letter headed "Cranbourne", stains on reverse) to Melbourne and bearing 1d. red cancelled with fine "t.p.o. 7/up" Commonwealth type c.d.s. Also 1896 1d. blue wrapper to Perth cancelled with "deutsche/seepost/australische/hauplinie/f" c.d.s., believed to be the sole recorded example of mail from Victoria with this datestamp 1899 picture postcard to Sydney, and 1900 and 1902 picture postcards to Melbourne, each bearing German 10pf. cancelled with "deutsche/seepost/australische/hauplinie" c.d.s., the first and last from Fremantle with "paquebot." h.s.
