An extremely rare set of Sir George Chetwynd Halfpenny tokens in silver, copper, and copper-gilt, by Halliday, head of Chetwynd right, rev. grendon halfpenny, arms, the silver edge impressed payable at grendon hall, the other two with plain edge (Bell 2; Davis Warwickshire 841), all uncirculated, extremely rare (3) Estimate £ 300-500 This is a second set of these rare tokens to appear at auction. The first, probably from the same family source, was offered in our 6-7 October auction last year and sold for £550.
