HMS Fairfax, John Pettie, [? 1/2d.] 1666 – Justice holding sword and scales/ship, fairfaxe (N.9352b; D. London 969A), nearly very fine, extremely rare Estimate £ 150-200 As purser of the Fairfax John Pettie reported in 1665/6 to Samuel Pepys, who was then Clerk of the Acts to the Navy Board. The Fairfax had 52 guns, was built in 1653 and wrecked in 1682. The token is the only one of the series known to have been issued by a serving naval officer.
