Rural area, Holloway, John Backster att the mother Read Capp, 1/2d. 1667 – woman, three-quarter length, wearing large cap, holding tankard and cakes (N.9180a; BW. Mdx 99), minor flan crack and obverse edge nick, small scratched area on reverse, but still pleasing, good very fine Estimate £ 100-120 Samuel Pepys drank at this tavern in September 1661, and was amused by the barmaid.
