Celtic, uninscribed coinage, Belgae, Quarter Stater, 1.01g, Basingstoke wreath type, crossed wreath, hidden face in one angle, rev. horse right, foliate motif above, sun below, ring pellets in fields (M. -; Rudd ABC 827; VA -; BMC -; S.- ), very fine, extremely rare, Estimate £ 600-800 Rudd notes this type ´?unique´. This new found specimen is struck from the same dies and is a better example than that listed by Rudd in ABC.
