Banque Industrielle de Chine A spectacular Bank presentation frame made to commemorate the opening of the Bank. The frame is bordered by a hand executed design and with title BANQUE INDUSTRIELLE DE CHINE also executed by hand. After the failure of the bank, the set passed by hand to Banque Franco-Chinoise in Paris and was subsequently presented to one of the Chief Cashiers of the Bank de Paris et Pays Bas. The notes are uniface obverse and reverse specimens of the 1918 Shanghai issue and comprise $1, blue, $5, blue, $10, blue, $50, purple, $100, blue and $500, purple. All have ornamented lion low left and right and are dated 1918. Various famous buildings are depicted on the reverses (PS 395, 396, 397, 397A, 397B, 397C), the notes are overprinted SPECIMEN and the whole series in an excellent state of preservation, most unusual and extremely rare Estimate HK$ 180,000-220,000
